The North Central College football program is one of the most storied in NCAA Division III history. The Cardinals first recorded game was played in 1898, and they joined the division in its inaugural year, 1973.
After 55 seasons competing in the NCAA, they were without a national championship appearance.
It wasn’t until 2006 that the Cardinals secured their first conference (CCIW) title.
With such a rich history behind them, and a surge of momentum leading to 10 CCIW championships in 12 seasons (2006-2017), North Central College was just one piece away from establishing national prowess.
