the Challenge

From 2019-2022, the Ottawa University football program was 14-27 overall (.341) and averaged under 4 wins per season.

High winds and adverse weather conditions often limited the coaching staff's effectiveness at practice. Since standard play cards are rendered ineffective on most high-wind days, the staff was forced to organize their practice script in binders.

Flipping through pages and struggling to send play calls in a timely manner made practice a challenge for the Braves. They run an up-tempo offense and needed the scout defense set quickly to replicate game-speed reps.

With time restraints and ineffective communication limiting the quality of their practices, Head Coach Nick Davis decided to update the team's processes ahead of the 2023 season.
