Innovative communications upgrade designed to ensure uninterrupted sideline connectivity for Texas high school football’s biggest stage

Rochester, Minnesota (May 20, 2026) — GoRout, the leading coach-to-player communication platform in football, announced today the development and successful implementation planning of a dedicated CBRS (Citizens Broadband Radio Service) network solution in collaboration with the networking team at AT&T Stadium and the Dallas Cowboys organization ahead of the 2026 UIL Football State Championships.

The new system was designed specifically to address the connectivity challenges experienced during the 2025 UIL Football State Championship games, where cellular congestion inside AT&T Stadium impacted traditional commercial wireless networks used by thousands of fans, media members, and event personnel.

GoRout’s newly developed CBRS-enabled wearable communication devices create a dedicated, stadium-supported communications pathway separate from public cellular traffic — similar to the private network infrastructure utilized for NFL coach-to-coach headset communications on game day.

“This was never about making excuses — it was about finding a permanent solution,” said Mike Rolih Founder/CEO, GoRout. “The UIL State Championships represent the pinnacle of Texas high school football, and coaches deserve technology they can trust in the biggest moments of the season. Working alongside the Cowboys networking team and AT&T Stadium to build this dedicated CBRS infrastructure gives us tremendous confidence heading into 2026.”

Following the 2025 championship experience, GoRout immediately began collaborating on a stadium technology that would engineer a more robust and isolated communications environment capable of handling the scale and complexity of one of the nation’s premier high school football events.

The CBRS deployment provides:

  • Dedicated private wireless connectivity inside AT&T Stadium
  • Isolation from commercial cellular congestion
  • Enhanced reliability and lower latency for coach-to-player communication
  • Game-day operational support aligned with professional sports communication standards

GoRout expects the upgraded system to be fully operational for all participating teams during the 2026 UIL Football State Championships.

Kilgore High School Head Coach Clint Fuller, whose team competed during last year’s championship weekend, praised the company’s response and commitment to improvement.

“What impressed me most wasn’t that there was an issue — it was how GoRout responded afterward. They owned it, communicated with us throughout the process, and went to work finding a real solution. That says a lot about who they are as a company and their commitment to coaches and players. We’re excited for year 2 of GoRout Gridiron.”

GoRout officials emphasized that the investment reflects the company’s long-term commitment to Texas high school football and ensuring championship-caliber communication technology for coaches and athletes across the state.

“We’re excited about what this means not just for UIL championships, but for the future of sports communications in large venues,” said Mike Rolih. “This is a major step forward.”
