Rochester, Minn. (October 10, 2024) — GoRout, the leading provider of coach-to-player communication technology for baseball and softball teams of all levels, today announced the launch of Diamond 2.0, a new and upgraded system for the company’s Diamond sports technology. GoRout has brought an elite level of sophistication to the diamond sports space, designed to simplify the coaching experience and increase player development.
GoRout Diamond was originally launched in 2023 and has since been adopted by over 1,100 teams. Since its launch, GoRout Diamond has delivered a best-in-class solution for not only pitch-calling communication but for all other required player communication that enhances the context of a pitch.
The launch of Diamond 2.0 comes with new and elevated features to offer coaches an even more customizable experience when building their play calls. All upgrades to GoRout’s Diamond technology have been developed based on feedback from over 600 coaches. New features include:
- Grid View Layout: Allows 25+ play calls at the coach's fingertips without the need to scroll. The layout provides a fast and efficient method for calling pitches, defensive positioning, and offensive calls during the game.
- Hot Lists: Centralized hub for coaches’ most frequently used play calls. This feature allows coaches to instantly transition to any play call that requires an immediate response, such as shifting into a bunt defense or signaling a double steal. By streamlining play-calls, Hot Lists help coaches maximize efficiency, leading to enhanced game-day performance.
- Device Performance Dashboard: Provides coaches with real-time insights into their system’s overall performance, including network signal strength, battery life and the time each device receives communication. The dashboard ensures both players and coaches stay informed about the system’s functionality during the game.
GoRout’s Diamond technology is approved for in-game use at the college, high school, and youth levels, and the system is utilized by some of the most successful programs in the country. This past season, GoRout worked with three dozen conference champions, more than forty teams that made regionals appearances, eleven College World Series participants, and one National Champion. As the most reliable, affordable, and scalable communication solution on the market, GoRout Diamond 2.0 provides a technological advantage to programs across all levels.
“The release of Diamond 2.0 builds on our commitment to innovation in both baseball and softball, giving coaches a game-changing coach-to-player communication tool that’s designed to elevate the performance on the field,” GoRout CEO Mike Rolih said. “The new features to our product that were developed with feedback from current users empower teams to perform their best during critical in-game moments. As former coaches ourselves, our goal has always been to make coaches’ lives easier and create a seamless flow of communication between coaches and players with unlimited customizable possibilities. Diamond 2.0 does just that.”
In addition to the new features in Diamond 2.0, GoRout continues to upgrade the network via its ongoing partnership with KORE Wireless. KORE ensures reliable and secure data transmission, allowing coaches and players to communicate instantly through GoRout’s technology, regardless of their location.
