Rochester, Minn. (April 24, 2025)GoRout, the leading provider of coach-to-player(s) communication technology, supports the Texas University Interscholastic League’s decision to approve in-game wearables. Starting in the 2025 season, teams will be permitted to utilize wearable communication devices during games, including GoRout’s digital wristbands to send playcalls from the press box to players on the field. Learn everything you need to know about the GoRout one-way play calling wristband system. Over 150 Texas high school teams are already using GoRout’s technology for practice.

Last season, GoRout introduced its in-game football system, GoRout Gridiron, alongside the NCAA and the Liberty League, a Division III conference – making it the only wearable communication system proven at the collegiate level.

The UIL rule change garnered mass support from THSCA coaches at all levels, from 1A to 6A. GoRout is looking forward to serving programs and coaches across the state as they look to usher in a new era of coach-to-player communication. The Texas High School Coaches Association has been pivotal in getting this rule change approved and are the first to push for this type of tech, providing an affordable and more secure alternative to the traditional audio-based coach-to-player communication systems.

“The Liberty League trial set a precedent when it comes to the innovative ways coaches communicate with players,” GoRout Chief Partnerships Officer Drew Robinson said. “We’re thrilled that Texas coaches recognize the value of wearables and understand that this is where the game is headed. Texas is leading the way when it comes to innovation in football, and we expect this to set a precedent for teams and leagues at all levels.”

Coaches can purchase the Gridiron system from GoRout today, and the company is offering bulk pricing to independent school districts and any other multi-team entity.
